Bits and pieces of our days at A NEST IN NATURE, a place where children can be who they are, learning and growing naturally, in their own time and in their own way, connecting with the natural world around them, with the hope they will care deeply about our earth forever.

Every season has its gifts to offer  :)

LANTERNS

Father Sun said he would give them a SPARK of the sun's rays to carry them through the long, cold, dark winter if they made a home for it.

      The children made their *homes*.

Next we will attach wire, add a tea light candle,
                       and embrace the darkness :)

STEW

There's all kinds of stew. . .  and they made the *inedible* kind.

 IMG_5679bbb

But they had great fun dumping out all the filled containers . . . even puzzle pieces and gourds!

There was lots of sorting, matching, and laughter, as well as determination and persistence, as everything was put back in their own containers at the end of the day  :)

TADPOLE UPDATE

Our Bullfrog tadpoles are still doing well. The children enjoy searching for them in the tank and looking at them with magnifying glasses.

They most definately will be overwintering inside with us :)

The only challenge will be food. Up until now they have eaten pond plants and the algae off those plants. I have read they can eat boiled lettuce and certain fish food from a pet shoppe.

IN THEIR OWN TIME

They WILL  *in their own time*. . .  when they *want* to . . . when they show an *interest* . . . when it is *right* for them.

And only THEY know their own needs and wants, and when it does happen they are so proud.. . proud to do it and proud that it was on THEIR terms !
